Telmagajir is the capitol city of the dwarven nation. It is located in the crater of an extinct volcano. The walls of the crater are so high that none, not even a dragon, can fly over them. The bulk of the city is built in the center of the crater in tiers. On the top tier is the dwarf’s king’s castle. On the second tier, there are impotant halls and buildings where members of the council come to discuss important matters. On the third tier, there are houses of the council members and other high ranking dwarves. The fourth tier holds the school where all dwarf children of the city go to learn. After the fourth tier, there is mostly flat land until you reach the crater walls. On this flat land are the houses for more common dwarves, the markets, and around the edges of the city, fields where the city’s food is grown.
Beyond the crater walls, there are several tunnels that travel through the mountains and under city itself. The most notable of these tunnels are the ones that lead to the bath houses, the dwarf king catacombs, and the mines.
The bath houses are located under the city and can be reached by many tunnels. This is actually a large underground lake with walls built in for privacy. The lake is heated by an old magma vent left over from the volcano.
The drawf king catacombs is located directly under the king's castle in a long, winding tunnel. It holds the remains of every dwarf king ever throned in Telmagajir in cemented blocks. On top of these blocks, there a likeness of the dwarf king carved from his favorite gemstone. On the front of the cement block, there is a gold plaque with the king's name and era of reign on it.
The mines' tunnel entrance is one long tunnel that branches off into several other mining tunnels. This is merely where the dwarfs come to mine for gems and other precious materials. It is important because it is the only place in all of the Ragerrook Mountains where you are allowed to mine for gems and other precious materials. All mining elsewhere has been restricted because such items are very rare, and the dwarfs worry about thieves.
