The Brighton Plains, the most fertile land in Adhumlia, the most coveted and the most jealously guarded. It is most likely the Brighton Plains have become so fertile due to the eons of bone and blood that has been spilt upon its soil.
Whether it’s the flood plains to the south-east of the Brighton River which floods each spring, bursting with melt from the northern Ragerrook Mountains or even the foothills in the west bordering the Bozark Mountains, there is not one trek of useless land in the Brighton plains. Farming villages are scattered throughout the plains, growing all manner of produce, some even specialising in grain, flowers and bees for ale, mead and wine. Each village either holds it’s own militia or a small outpost of 2-10 soldiers.
Surrounded on all borders by the other races, the humans have learned to aggressively defend themselves from incursions. The villages and settlements while they may be separate, are distanced no further than a days journey from each other- as such, news travels fast in the Brighton Plains and news of an enemies advance spreads quickly, as do the orders for counter attack. Small cities and settlements are laid out in a zigzagging pattern with layers of walls within creating defenders a strategic advantage against an enemy with numerical superiority.
