The Neutral Plains are also seperated into three sides of lawful neutral, chaotic neutral, and true neutral. However, unlike the Celestial Mountain or Demonic Pit, souls here are neither rewarded nor punished for their actions while living. Mostly, they simply do much of the same stuff they did while living, though usually at a much more relaxed pace.
The lawful side is full of people working hard and studying. There are lots of libraries here and other such buildings. They are mostly used by souls who passed before they could fulfill a certain promise, so they try to make good on it after death. These promises can be anything from learning a new language to helping their child on a school project. Usually these promises are small things, that are neither good nor evil.
The chaotic neutral side is a lot less orderly. The souls here just do whatever they want whenever they want. Most of this is small, simple things, like jumping in leaf piles or experimenting in the kitchen. Nothing they do can be considered good or evil, but it's more natural choices rather than being hindered by what's good or evil.
The True Neutral side is probably the most boring part of afterlife. The souls seem perfectly content to just lie and watch the clouds. They are allowed to travel between the two sides and even up to the Celestial Mountains or down to the Demonic Pit if they want. Mostly, they don't want to do either though. They spent their lives trying to survive in the best way they could.
There is a large stone wall all the way around the Neutral Plains. On the north side of the wall, there is a large gate. It is through this gate that new souls arrive. Shortly after arrival, the souls are sent to whichever side they belong on or in some cases, sent away if it's determined they don't belong there. There are little windows in the wall through which the dead souls can look out and watch the living. Near the gate is the only place where souls can be resurrected.
The Neutral Plains is actually exactly what it sounds like, a large plain. Most of it is covered in long, soft grass. The most buildings are on the lawful side with the other two sides having far fewer orderly buildings and more random structures. The sky is usually a perfect blue with a few clouds in the day and a hundred twinkling stars at night. You'll notice as you travel away from the gate that there are little fences stretching across the plain. These fences mark the level of death you're in. The further away from the gate you travel, the moe content you should be and the less likely you are to return to the living world.
