Adhumlia is filled with many natural wonders, but amongst the most famous of these is the Sandstone Bridge in the Brighton Plains. This naturally occurring formation has been shaped by time, wind and the flowing Brighton River. 5 Miles in length, it overlooks the narrowest point of the Brighton River flowing far below the ravine it has created over the millenia. The Sandstone Bridge is half a mile wide at it's narrowest point and one mile at it's widest at either side of the ravine.
It is one of the key crossing points of the Brighton River. there are many other ways to cross the river, smaller bridges and ferries; however, the Sandstone Bridge is the highway. Given it's location, it is a common stopover point for travellers and traders who stay at one of the many inns constructed on the bridge itself. The Bridge is almost a city to itself. Once merely a travelling route, it's popularity stirred entrepenuers to spawn inns and taverns, markets and other signs of civilisation. The local king a long time ago saw this growth and wasted no time in taxing the bridge, so passage is expensive, but efficient.
It is the duty of one thousand soldiers to guard the bridge. While it provides excellent economic travel, the strategic importance of the bridge is not lost, as it is one of the few locations that an army can cross the Brighton River that comes through this area of the plains.
