It was long thought that the Brighton River was a freshwater sea which met up with the ocean at the southern coast of the Brighton Plains; however, careful study and exploration eventually revealed the the River is in fact fed by fresh water springs and snow melt from the Ragerrook Mountains to the west. This makes the Brighton River the largest river in Adhumlia.
Snaking it's way through the Brighton Plains, it passes under the Sandstone Bridge at it's narrowest point of 5 miles. The river is as wide as 10 miles in some places.
It teems with aquatic life; fish, crustacean- some fishers in the villages along it's banks even tell of chance encounters with Merfolk- although no merit has been lended to any of these 'fish stories' so far.
